Friday Sport

Terms 1 & 4

Sport is first up on Friday mornings during Terms 1 and 4.  Students are divided into their year groups and compete against each other in their house groups.  A variety of different sports are played over the terms.
In Terms 1 & 4 tennis coaching is offerred to 32 students in years 3-6 (small cost involved) at Whitebridge Tennis Courts.  Sue Swinfield the tennis coach at the courts teaches the students.  After tennis the students are walked back to Charlestown East.

Terms 2 & 3

Sport is held after an early lunch on Friday afternoons.  Students in Years 3-6 are able to represent the school in interschool competitions as follows:  
Netball:  Teams from each year represent the school at Charlestown Netball courts.
Rugby League:  A junior and senior team represent the school at Windale Oval.
Soccer:  A junior and senior team represent the school at the Macquarie Complex at Speers Point.
Students in years K-2 and those students not playing the above sports play a variety of different sports over the two terms.  In Term 3 Year 2 students are taught tennis skills from Keith Williams for a small cost at school.
