Charlestown East Public School is a community-based school which draws from a maturing local population encompassing a variety of socio-economic backgrounds. The school provides a variety of settings in which learning takes place. A hall, library, twelve classrooms, designated 'peaceful places', an amphitheatre and a large oval with sporting facilities are utilised by the school and community. Partnerships between staff, students and parents promote the school's vision of being a caring community school. Students are immersed in a culture where individual diversity and tolerance are valued in the quest to be lifelong learners.
Our school song
Oh hear the song of praise we sing to Charlestown East our school,
So lift your voices, let them ring, let courage be our rule,
So let us not forget our song, though others we may hear,
May we help keep our country strong, with freedom and no fear,
We study hard and play the game, and when we face the test,
‘Achieve with honour' is our aim, we'll always give our best.
Our school rules
At Charlestown East Public School, we always strive for excellence by following the school rules:
Wontakalowa. Here at Charlestown East Public School, we would like to acknowledge the Elders who are the Traditional Custodians of this land, the Awabakal people and extend our respect to our neighbours, the Worimi people and Darkinjung people in which we are connected through the land, water and community. We would also like to acknowledge the Stolen Generation for which we remember the past and stand for the future of our present and emerging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
